Jagna is a young woman determined to forge her own path in a late 19th century Polish village, a hotbed of gossip and on-going feuds. But when she is forced to marry the wealthy father of the man she loves, she becomes the target of the village’s jealousy and hatred, in a society held together by tradition and deep-rooted patriarchy.
