Kate Dibiasky, an astronomy grad student, and her professor Dr. Randall Mindy discover a comet in the solar system that is on a direct collision course with Earth. Their attempt to warn the world runs into indifference, skepticism, and political spin, forcing them onto a media tour in the hope that someone will finally take the threat seriously before impact.
