A movie director struggles with his relationship with his family and with his latest film, which is meant to be a masterpiece. As the production falls apart, his longtime producer and wife leaves to work with another director, the lead character tries to turn the project into a romantic melodrama, and the new producers push for more spice. He must try to hold the chaos together without losing the magic of cinema.
