On Christmas Day in Los Angeles, airport security officer Ethan Kopek hopes to get through a difficult shift and celebrate the holiday that evening with his pregnant girlfriend, who also works at the airport. Hoping to earn a promotion, he asks to be assigned to the scanner, but is soon contacted by an unknown caller. The caller demands that he let a bag containing dangerous contraband pass through security, threatening to kill Ethan's girlfriend if he refuses.
