While driving home to the countryside at night with his pregnant wife and young daughter, Eghbal runs over a dog and stops at a garage when his car breaks down. There, Vahid, a mechanic, thinks he recognizes one of his former torturers from the sound of the man's prosthetic leg. After following him, Vahid kidnaps the man and takes him into the desert, intending to bury him alive, but begins to doubt whether he has the right person. He brings the captive back to Tehran, where other former detainees debate what should be done next.
