Sixteen-year-old Vivien is trapped in The Vestalis Academy, a prison-like boarding school, where girls are trained from a young age to become “ideal women.” They are taught strict rules of behavior, pushed through a program of sixteen stages, and prepared for a future in which the best graduates are taken into wealthy families. When Vivien is reunited with Sophia, a former friend who once betrayed her, the two begin searching for the truth behind the academy’s horrifying purpose.
