Jimmie Fails IV, a third-generation San Franciscan, returns to the city he believes is his birthright and becomes obsessed with reclaiming the Victorian house his grandfather supposedly built. The home is now occupied by an elderly white couple, but Jimmie keeps visiting it, tending the windows and flowers whenever he can. With his best friend Montgomery by his side, he pursues the house as a symbol of family, memory, and belonging. As the city changes around him, Jimmie’s quest becomes a deeply personal struggle to hold on to a place that has pushed him out.
