Farmer Nathan Gardner lives with his wife and three children in a remote place, hoping to build a quiet life away from the modern world. One day a meteorite crashes near their home, then mysteriously disappears, and soon strange changes begin around the impact site: unusual flowers spread, communications glitch, and the well water becomes suspect. As the family starts to notice increasingly disturbing changes in the behavior and appearance of those around them, it becomes clear that an unknown force is slowly taking over their home and the Gardners themselves.
