Living in denial, the depressed, pill-popping child psychologist Anna Fox has holed herself up in her eerily vacant Manhattan brownstone apartment for months, separated from her husband and daughter. When the Russells move in across the street, Anna begins peeking into their lives to distract herself from her own problems, but one night she witnesses what appears to be a violent crime. As police doubt her account, Anna sets out to discover the truth, unsure whether her traumatized mind is playing tricks on her.
