After 12 years in prison for attempted murder, former high school football star Eddie Palmer returns to his hometown and tries to rebuild his life. Living with his grandmother, he becomes involved with a troubled young boy whose mother has abandoned him. Their bond forces Palmer to confront his past and rediscover his capacity for compassion.
