Chicago, 1968. William O’Neal, caught stealing a car while posing as an FBI agent, strikes a deal with federal authorities. He infiltrates the Illinois chapter of the Black Panther Party and gains the trust of its leader, Fred Hampton. As Hampton works to unite local ethnic organizations into the Rainbow Coalition, the authorities move to destroy the movement by using a man on the inside.
